- Natalie Miller and Nathan Hartswick in front of a destiny VCC
Stop me if you’ve listened this one before. A horse, a clergyman and Donald Trump travel into a bar, demeanour around and say, “Holy shit. It’s a comedy bar in Burlington!”
OK, so maybe my punchline needs a small work. But starting a third week of Nov we could brush adult on my fun construction during the Vermont Comedy Club. No joke. Co-owners, comedy moguls and sickeningly lovable married integrate Natalie Miller and Nathan Hartswick — seen above in a print taken by a man named Dan Bowles, that is kinda freakin’ me out — announced progressing this week that they have finally damaged belligerent on their long-awaited comedy club.
The venue, that will take adult chateau in a aged Armory building on Main Street in Burlington — before home Sh-Na-Na’s and Hunt’s and also assigned by a Hilton Garden Inn — will open in Nov with a 2015 Vermont’s Funniest Comedian competition. Appropriate for a soon-to-be epicenter of internal comedy. (Obviously, formed on a prior joke, we will not be competing.)
In a press recover announcing a groundbreaking, Miller and Hartswick and developer Erik Hoekstra pronounced a garland of things you’d design to see in a intense press release. (“We’re totes pumped, we guys.” “This will be good for a children.” “I only wanna appreciate God and give 110%.” “Feel a Bern.” And so on.)
OK, we done adult those quotes, since we hatred reading press releases. But a indicate is this: After good some-more than a year of formulation and speculation, VCC is going to open. For real. And that’s great news. (Also cold news: The group behind prohibited BTV eatery Butch + Babe’s is conceptualizing a VCC menu.)
Stay tuned for updates — and improved jokes — as events warrant.
